“Absolutely worth it! Could not emphatically recommend enough! Madison was an excellent photographer who captured exceptionally beautiful moments throughout my wife’s labor and delivery. Additionally, her training and experience as a doula provided further support to our already fantastic doula. We basically got a second doula and a photographer at an excellent price. Her turn-around time for getting us the placenta encapsulation was impressively fast. We absolutely loved her energy and unending support. My birth was definitely nothing I had wished for or planned. I had to have an emergency induction due to preeclampsia. “Madison is amazing at what she does as a doula and birth photographer. She was by my side as soon as I needed her and offered to come early multiple times. She checked in with me throughout the end of my pregnancy till after I delivered. During labor she was there the whole time. I ended up needing a c-section and Madison was allowed in the OR. She was able to capture photos for me that I will cherish forever. It was extremely special for me since I was not able to see the birth of my daughter myself and was feeling side effects of medications. She stayed till after I was moved to recovery and made sure I had everything I needed. She has been amazing since we met for our initial consult. “Madison has truly been a godsend during my pregnancy, labor and postpartum experience! I wanted to experience a natural birth at the hospital vs a birthing center and it 100% wouldn't have happened if she wasn't there for me and my husband that day! She worked with our labor and delivery nurses so well and everyone just loved her! We got comments throughout our stay at the hospital about how much everyone loved working with her and how great she was! She worked with me for hours with positioning and getting things going in the hospital. She advocated for me all the way through the labor process and I felt so taken care of. She was just the "medicine" I needed when labor got really tough! She was encouraging and helped me mitigate the pain to get through it all! During my birth experience, Madison was not only a photographer but a source of strength, support, advocacy, light, and knowledge. Madison truly went above and beyond for my family. During my multi-day labor, she never left my side; she was with us for over 36 hours. We began our birth journey at home where Madison suggested and supported us with different laboring positions, provided counter pressure, her own essential oils, and her own tens machine. She was able to collaborate organically with my midwives prior to and throughout my birth experience. She emotionally and mentally held space for our feelings and concerns when we had to transfer to the hospital for the rest of our labor and delivery. During that time Madison was able to utilize her array of knowledge and skills to help my partner and I advocate for the birth that WE wanted, not the one that our provider wanted. She prepared us for conversations the hospital staff had with us and explained medical jargon when we did not understand. Madison advocated for us when we could not for ourselves. After our birth experience, Madison supported our family through reflection and conversation by looking through the photos she captured. Each photograph showcased Madison’s talent, style, and incredible eye. She captured the entire experience: light moments of my partner and I laughing, devastation and disappointment when we were told we had to have an unplanned c-section, and the overwhelming love that washed over us when our baby came into this world. Her images are irreplaceable, and we wouldn’t even be able to look back on a good portion of our birth process without them.
