Doula Support

Evidence-Based | Trauma-Informed

Doula support is for everyone! .·:*¨ ¨*:·.

But not every doula will be the right fit for you. And that’s okay! I would love to schedule a time for us to see if we’re a good fit to work together.

I am the right doula for you if:

  • You want to have extensive support, not only during birth but during your pregnancy as well

  • You want to be supported by an experienced, trauma-informed, and well-educated doula

  • You want to have access to an extensive list of community resources and referrals

  • You are ready to do the work in order to educate yourself!

  • You want to feel empowered to ask questions to your providers

  • You want to make informed decisions regarding your care

  • You want to have a positive and empowering birth experience!

“When I hired Madison as my doula I was looking for support while in labor and not only did I receive that support but I also got so much more! Madison was a resource for valuable information from the minute I met her. Madison took the time to get to know my birth preferences and she really listened. I really don’t think I would have been able to stick to my natural birth plan if it weren’t for her. I give SO SO SO much credit to Madison for helping me have my dream labor and delivery!”

— Hana, Birther

How it works

  • Consultation + Booking

We will meet (virtually) for a 30 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit to work together. Come with all the questions! I love talking about birth and the role that I play as your doula. I want to know where you’re at and what you’re looking for so I can know how to best support you!

Once you are ready to move forward, you will sign the contract and pay your deposit via the online portal. That’s when my support begins :)

  • Prenatal Meetings + Birth Prep!

During your pregnancy, we will meet for prenatal meetings in your home. These meetings look different for every family. My support is not one-size-fits-all. I want to get to know your unique needs for support, and the goals that you want to achieve during your birth.

    This can look like:

    • Birth plan building

    • Reviewing comfort measures

    • Fear release

    • Partner coaching

    • …so much more!

If you decide to move forward with my Deluxe Package, you will also receive complete comprehensive childbirth education!

  • The On-Call Period

I consider myself fully on-call for your birth from 37 weeks on. This means that I will stay within 2 hours of your birth location and will be reachable by phone 24/7. A question I often get asked is, “what happens if I go into labor before 37 weeks?”. — In the unlikely event of a preterm birth, I would make every reasonable effort to be there, or I would send a back up doula until I could get to you. Either way, you’re covered! :) We can talk about back up doulas more in our consultation!

During the last few weeks and days leading up to your babe’s arrival, we will be in contact about signs of early labor, mental and physical preparation, and so much more. Often times, near your due date, we’ll be texting almost every day. I always say, those last few days of pregnancy is where the work really begins.

  • Your Birthing Day

When you’re in labor, let me know! We will decide on a time and location for me to come meet you.

Once I arrive, I stay with you until after your baby is born! Throughout your labor, I guide you through your journey, empower you and your partner to advocate for your preferences (and speak up if you can’t for yourself), use support techniques that we talked about during our prenatal meetings to bring you comfort and help you reach your goals, facilitate connection between you and your partner, and so so soooo much more.

Some things I bring to every birth: a TENS unit, acupressure comb, and rebozo! We will go over how to use these things in our prenatal meetings.

  • Postpartum

Postpartum begins once your placenta is born. I stay with you at your birth location for 1-2 hours after this happens. I like to make sure all of your postpartum preferences are met and everyone is settled before I leave.

I will be in touch to schedule our postpartum visit within 14 days of the birth. Typically this visit involves processing your birth story, going over any breastfeeding or baby care assistance you need, and getting feedback about my role.

I always say, the support doesn’t stop because our contract ends. I love keeping in touch with families and watching your babies grow! ♡

“Madison was a blessing and a huge huge part of our birth story. She provided expert care and advice to my wife and I throughout pregnancy and I cannot imagine our labor and delivery without her. She always had amazing words of encouragement, labor positions to try and ways to soothe both me and my wife in the insanity that is labor and delivery. Asside from my wife's strength, Madison is the main reason my wife was able to have a natural birth and a positive birth experience. We truly love Madison and think anybody looking for a Doula should stop searching and contact Madison immediately. I cannot recommend her services any higher.”
